      Mental Health First Aid - Higher Education | Boise, ID (1 day training, Nov. 13: 8:30-5:00)

      Sometimes first aid isn't a bandage or CPR. Sometimes, first aid is YOU.  Date & Time: Wednesday, Nov. 13, 8:30-5:00 Location: Boise State University (room TBD) Registration Required: Course needs at least 10 participants for the class to take place. Maximum capacity is 30 participants. Registration Fee: $45, this training is valued at $170. Made possible by underwriting from Alpha Tau Omega, Boise State We will take a short 30-minute lunch break, it will be on your own.  Participants must attend full 8-hour session to obtain MHFA certificate. Scholarshiped seats are available if registration fees are prohibitive to training attendance, please email info@thespeedyfoundation.org  Students and Faculty of BSU are welcome to use the code ATOBSU to waive the registration fee, compliments of ATO @ BSU Idaho is consistently among the states with the highest suicide rates. Away from support systems that have been in place for the better part of their lives, college students may be at elevated risk for developing certain mental health and substance use issues. Mental Health First Aid for Higher Education teaches students, professors and other school faculty how to notice and respond to mental health and addiction challenges commonly experienced by youth in higher education settings. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders in your community.
